According to the National Emergency Management Agency, about 310, 000 IDPs from seven local government areas in Borno State have returned to their homes in liberated communities following the restoration of peace in those areas. The agency’s North East coordinator, Mr. Muhammad Kanar, said 67, 000 IDPs had returned to Dikwa; 9,000 to Bama; 13, 000 to Konduga; 5, 000 to Lassa; 52, 000 to Damboa; 52, 000 to Banki; 71, 000 to Gamboru-Ngala and 41, 000 to Konduga. Only about 101, 387 IDPs are remaining in camps in Maiduguri. The Borno State Ministry of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation (RRR) has already completed reconstruction work in some local councils to facilitate the return home of IDPs. NEMA, PCNI,
federal and state ministries of agriculture and other partners will continue to provide relief packages to enable the returnees access health services, rebuild their livelihood.
